IAAF 2016 Rio Olympic Standards, World and Olympic records comparison

December 11, 2015 0

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) set the qualification standards for the 2016 Rio Olympics Games. They are slightly easier standards to attain except for the relays where teams need to be in the top-eight in the world to qualify, not top-16. These new standards may better reflect non drug-aided performances.

Below are the 2012 “A” standards, 2016 single standard, World records and Olympic records.

** Error with the men’s 2012-A column. Will re-post with fix.
