Julio César Maglione, president of the Pan American Sports Organization (Odepa, Spanish acronym) announced that Gladys Tejeda tested positive for doping, after she won the gold medal in the women’s marathon at the Pan American Games 2015 last month, report local media.

She broke the Pan American Games record with a time of 2:33:03 and was a whole 2 and a half minutes ahead of her next competitor, to receive the gold medal.

That gold medal is currently being contemplated by officials and they will be deciding whether or not she will give it back within the next 10 days.

Silver medalist, Peruvian swimmer Mauricio Fiol, also tested positive for doping last month after participating in the Pan American Games Toronto 2015. He was stripped of his silver medal and suspended from participation in the remainder of the competitions. He had won silver in the 200-meter butterfly event, according to the National Post.
