Jim Finlayson of Victoria, BC on September 27, 2015, set the Beer Mile World Record in the super master age-group (40-plus) with his finish time of 5:01.24. Tonight he set out to improve upon that time, in preparation for the World Beer Mile Championships taking place in Austin, Texas on December 1st.

Tonight he nearly took down his own record with a finish time of 5:01.92. So close. He previously held the open Beer Mile world record of 5:07.

Approximate splits:
First beer: 5.02 – First lap: 1:15.04 (including second beer)
Second beer: 4.20 – Second lap: 1:16.10 (including third beer)
Third beer: 6.80 – Third lap: 1:16.76 (including fourth beer)
Fourth beer: 6.31 – Fourth lap: 1:08.13

The clock read: 5:01.92
