Athletics Kenya is in the process of bidding to host the World Youth Championships in Nairobi in 2017. The bidding process started in March 2014 when Athletics Kenya submitted to IAAF a letter of intent to host the Championships in Nairobi. The President Athletics Kenya, Isaiah F. Kiplagat was delighted to announce  that the IAAF accepted the letter of intent together with two other countries the USA and Argentina.

Athletics Kenya is optimistic while bidding for this event especially because of its success in the world of athletics.
