Athletics Illustrated will be putting on the first-ever Canada Day Mile at Esquimalt Lagoon in Greater Victoria (Colwood).
The event will be a certified 1609m, completely flat and paved asphalt. The race will be straight, with one turn – the turnaround, 180-degree turn.
The road will be closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the event.
The Athletics Illustrated Canada Lagoon Mile will be run at 11:30 am, followed by a partner event: The Smart Dolphins IT Solutions Canada Polar Bear Swim at 12:00 pm (noon) sharp.

Douglas Street Mile in front of the Victoria Parade, Monday, May 18, 2020 – Victoria Day
Athletics Illustrated Canada Day Lagoon Mile, Wednesday, July 1, 2020 – Canada Day
Bob Reid’s Magical Mile taking place Monday, September 7, 2020 – Labour Day
