The Cardiff Half Marathon that was postponed from October 2020 to March 2021 has now be pushed forward to Sunday, October 3 2021.

The rising numbers of Covid-19 cases and new social distancing as well as lockdown restrictions made it clear that hosting the event would be impossible this month.

Organisers of the event Run 4 Wales was monitoring the situation. They took direction from the Welsh and UK governments. Due to the spike in cases, the advice was to postpone yet again.

SHOESTRINGS: Irish athlete Sean Hehir won the KBC Virtual Dublin Marathon finishing in the time of 2:21:43. Hehir was struck by a car in December 2019 but managed a decent race. Mary Walsh won the women’s race in the time of 2:57:47. The Dublin athlete is coached by Olympic Marathon runner Mick Clohisey. Approximately 13,000 took in the virtual race.
