UK Athletics Chief Executive Joanna Coates told the media that there is no guarantee Great Britain will host a Diamond League meet in 2021 after suggesting that they would only stage major events if it made financial sense.
Two Diamond League meets are under threat Gateshead and London due to financial concerns. Neither were run this summer.

Meanwhile, due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic and social distance protocals UK Sport is providing extra funding to 10 British National Governing Bodies (NGBs).
They will distribute a total of $1.8 million US to NGBs that have applied for funding. They are:
- British Cycling $664,000
- British Basketball $146,000
- Royal Yachting #$664,000
- British Fencing $47,000
- British Weightlifting $29,000
- British Judo $47,000
- England Hockey $114,000
- Pentathlon and others will also receive funding.
A second round of funding will open soon. For UK Athletics sake, they should apply.
