The Association Internationale De La Presse Sportive will award long distance runner Haile Gebrselassie with an AIPS Power of Sport Award in Lausanne on Sunday. Haile Gebrselassie will receive this award because of his achievements in athletics, which made him popular by sports lovers all over the world. His World and Olympic titles and his 27 world records made him one of the best long distance runners ever.
The other reason for receiving this award is the respect he gained off the track. As an ambassador for charity organizations and the G4S 4teen program, his role in the successful Great Ethiopian Run, his own businesses and his political ambitions in Ethiopia, made him even more popular.

Haile Gebrselassie will visit Lausanne on Sunday to receive the AIPS Power of Sport Award.

Furthermore, Haile Gebrselassie is determined to break the long distance masters 40+ World Records. He recently broke two World Records. He broke his first World Record in the 10 Miles in the Grand Prix of Bern by running 46:59. Only one week later he set a new 10k World Record in the Great Manchester Run where he finished third in 28:00.
