Kenyan Alex Lagat tested positive at the Tychy Half Marathon after finishing second. The result from the September 3rd race has been annulled.

The Polish Anti-Doping Agency which carried out the test released a statement, “Triamcinolone, a glucocorticosteroid, was detected in one of the tested participants.”

It is a prohibited substance during competitions for licensed professional competitors at national and international levels.

Triamcinolone is the same drug that Diana Kipyokei who won the 2021 Boston Marathon tested positive for and was subsequently banned.

His half marathon best is 1:04:16 from Nov. 2022 while his marathon pb is 2:26:55 Feb. 2019.
