Nick Willis, New Zealand’s top middle-distance runner, organised a men’s elite mile race as well as a women’s 800m elite race and called it the 2014 Michigan Track Classic in Saline, Michigan. The meet took place Sunday, August 10th and apparently the meet was very exciting.

Willis won his race in the time of 3:53.50, which is the fastest mile ever run in the state of Michigan. He was challenged, but not bettered, results are below for both races.
