Runner Sion Daniels of Llanelli AC is accused of cheating in the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday, October 1. Organizers claim it would be impossible for him to complete the course in 67 minutes. 

The participant alleged that he had completed the race in the time of one hour, seven minutes and 58 seconds which would have placed him 23rd out of 27,500 entrants. 

However, organizers claim he would have had to run a world record pace over the final 11km to finish in the time he supposedly ran.

Daniels’ name has been struck from the results.

Apparently, Daniels submitted a GPX of his route, however, organizers allege that he cut out approximately 3kms and that the image he supplied was from a different run altogether.

Daniels was seen at the 10km point alongside others who crossed the 10km timing mat in 37:46. Video footage shows him at 15km, 55 minutes into the race.
