When Russians are fed-up and and have had enough one may utter, “the poet’s soul did not bear, the shameful hurts of low breed,” as coined by great poet and romantic writer Mikhail Lermontov.
Such is the case of the of the entire executive committee of the Russian Athletics Federation (RUSAF). They just up and walked out en masse; its chaos.
In Russia, so-called eternal peace, which is merely just a muse for the artists, exists only until the next war.
Meanwhile, a patchwork committee was assembled, which is led by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
Russia was charged with systematic doping of its athletes in 2015. Their national suspension has been extended more than a dozen times.
The Russian Anti-Doping Agency has also been charged with tampering with data from their laboratory computer based in Moscow. They delayed the extraction of data several times – a red flag move. In January, the Athletics Integrity Unit asked that the athletics federation be expelled from World Athletics.
ROC President Stanislav Pozdnyakov is heading the committee, which a new President to replace Shlyakhtin by the end of February.
Sebastian Coe, president of World Athletics will write to Matytsin to warn him that Russian athletes will not be allowed to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, “unless Russia’s sport leaders admit charges of breaking anti-doping rules.”
They did not participate in Rio 2016.
