Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) was launched last week as an initiative to keep Australian sport clean and free of cheating.

The SIA launch is led by former Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner and sport administrator David Sharpe.

The initiative was established in the wake of a review by the Australian government named the Wood Review.

SIA will bring together national sport organisations (NSOs), athletes and agencies with the aim to protect the integrity of the sport.

SIA will develop national policies, resources and education around safeguarding Australian sports. They will work to also safeguard against match-fixing, and corrupt sports wagering and educate and inform on anti-doping and the primary cause to failed drug tests from supplements.

Sport Integrity Australia is a new organisation that combines the existing functions of the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority, the National Integrity of Sport Unit and the nationally focused integrity functions of Sport Australia.”
