The Athletics Integrity Unit continues to do their work and has now provisionally suspended three more East African athletes.

As of December 4 and 5, 2019, respectively Kenyans Mercy Jerotich Kibarus and James Kibet have been notified that they have test results that have shown the presence of Norandrosterone.

Egyptian athlete Belal Ahmed showed the presence of EPO, the blood-booster.

Norandrosterone is an anabolic steroid that can be detected from a urine test. The product has been used for at least 30 years.

Kibarus is a 34-year-old marathon distance runner with a best of 2:26:52 from Seoul, Korea in 2017. She has run the half-marathon distance in 68:42.

Kibet is 31 and has run the half-marathon as fast as 63:56 from Torino, 2019.
His 5,000m best is an impressive 13:11.88 from Berlin 2017.

Ahmed has run the half-marathon in 66:53, but the marathon in just 2:23:11 in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
