Canada’s Moh Ahmed and Kenya’s Celestine Biwot Kekosgei won the 2026 New Balance Kö Meile Königsallee in Düsseldorf, Germany.

For the elite athletes, the event is well-timed before the 2025 Copenhagen Road Running Championships.

For Biwot, at just 22, she has run the 5000m as fast as 15:03.33. The 3000m steeplechaser has run the event in 9:17.06. She is a two-time national champion and picked up a gold medal at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
New Balance KÖ MEILE brings runners to Düsseldorf’s Königsallee for short one-mile (1609m) and 5km race distances.
The course runs along the Kö, Düsseldorf’s main boulevard, with a focus on atmosphere and speed: confetti, a cheering zone, a DJ truck, medals, donuts, and a post-race Run & Vibe Area. The Elite Mile is by invitation only, its course certified by World Athletics, offering top runners a chance to earn World Ranking points.
