According to Ayumda Ayodi in the publication named “Nation,” (AK to select 10,000m Olympics team in USA, Tuesday, May 14) Athletics Kenya will use the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, OR to select the 10,000m teams for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The only American-based Diamond League meet will take place on May 25.
Twelve Kenyan men and 14 women will race in Eugene for the six Olympic team spots.

The qualifying standards are 27:00 for the men and 30:40 for the women.
Kenya last used the meet as a Trials during the 2012 edition, for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Twenty-seven men and 27 women will compete in the 10,000m event in Paris.
Otherwise, Kenya’s National Athletics Championships will be held on the 21st and 22nd of May at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi. The event was moved from the Nyayo National Stadium due to “unavoidable circumstances.”
The marathon team was already selected back in April.
