The communications lines were hot with last minute surprises for the Vancouver Sun Harry Jerome Track Classic invitation’s chair, Marek Jedrzejek.

The legendary, now retired, UBC track coach, has assembled a world class lineup for this 35th  edition of the longest  standing track meet in Canada.

Jedrzejek said “We now have a host of top 10 and top 20 athletes on the world list, coming to the Jerome Classic lead by the world leader in the decathlon, Damian Warner of London, ON,  the number 2 ranked long jumper, Christabel Nettey of Surry, BC, and number 6 ranked, Sage Watson of Medicine Hat, AB  in the 400m hurdles and number 8 ranked Mike Mason of Nanoose Bay, BC in the high jump.”
