Canada’s Sarah Mitton has repeated as World Athletics Indoor Champion in the shot put. She defended her title that she won in Glasgow last year putting the shot over 20 metres three times during the 2025 competition. Her championship toss came in her final attempt, which flew 20.48 metres.

Taking second place was Jessica Schilder from the Netherlands with her 20.07m effort. And the bronze medallist is Chase Jackson from the U.S. with a 20.06m put.
Mitton earned a silver medal during the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships with a 20.08m effort. The Liverpool, Nova Scotia native also earned gold at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games tossing the shot 19.03m.
The 28-year-old’s personal best is 20.68 from May last year at the Garage Strength meet in Fleetwood, PA.
