Although the Vitality London 10,000 race, is a reference to the track distance event, it is very much a 10K road race.

In mild and wet conditions, Eilish McColgan, who finished 15th in the 10,000m at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, finished in the time of 31:36 for the win.

Lucy Reid finished second in the time of 32:17, while Lily Reid clocked a third-place 32:37 performance.

For Lucy Reid, it was a new personal best. She improved upon her 2023 Valencia 10K time of 32:56.

In the men’s race, Jack Rowe crossed the line in 29:14. Seyfu Jamaal finished second in 29:42 and Tewelde Menges was third in 29:55.

For the 23-year-old Jamaal, it was a new personal best performance over his 2020 London best of 30:14. For Menges, it was his debut over the 10K distance on the roads, however, he has raced several times in the 10,000m event clocking a best of 29:26.22 in May this year.

David Weir won the men’s wheelchair race in 22:13 while Martyna Snopek triumphed in the women’s wheelchair event in 38:37.

The 10km race is held in central London on a route that passes famous landmarks.
