Google LLC is sponsoring the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, according to a media release published Wednesday.

The American technology company is so ubiquitous, to use its search engine is now an official verb in the English language, to “Google.”

The company will power the Games as the official cloud services provider. The agreement extends to Team USA and NBCUniversal’s US coverage.

Google will leverage its artificial intelligence tools. This includes Gemini AI and new Google Search features such as AI Mode. AI Mode will enable users to find information during broadcasts. The company will also support LA28 operations, according to organizers.

“Technologically advanced, engaging and digitally accessible Games,” Said LA28 Chairperson and CEO Casey Wasserman. He stated that the partnership aims to deliver Google’s products that will help attendees navigate venues and access real-time information.

“Google joins LA28 as a Founding Partner. Providing consumer and business solutions that will enhance the Games experience for millions of fans, athletes, and the more than 70,000 volunteers and workforce members who will help welcome the world to Los Angeles,” read the statement.

Google will also utilize its nearly as ubiquitous video service YouTube.

LA28 has now signed five premier sponsors, which include Starbucks, Comcast, Delta and Honda.
