Banned athletics coach Hammid Muritala, who was suspended by the Nigerian Anti-Doping Committee in 2021 for violating anti-rules rules continues to coach.
Muritala was banned for 10 years when he admitted to aiding junior athlete, Fatimah Abdulazziz, during the National Youth Games held in Ilorin, Kwara State. But he was reportedly seen coaching Kwara athletes at the AFN Golden League held in Benin City on Thursday.

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) begins a two-day All Comers and Golden league trials at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, with the female 100 meters opening the heat.

As a result, the Kwara Athletics Association how now been suspended by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).
“The action amounts to violation of Rule 2.9 of World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules. The Kwara AA shall remain suspended, pending the outcome of further investigation,” read an AFN statement.
Bolakale Mogaji, who is the chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission said that Muritala was banned six months ago. It is alleged that he was seen travelling the Benin with athletes and no representatives were present from the Kwara Athletics Association.
