On Sunday, March 25, Hayes Carll will headline the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll® Dallas Half Marathon as the race continues its strong tradition of bringing fun to the run with great music at the core. The post-race concert will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday to cap a great day of racing that includes more music for athletes and spectators than ever before.

Texas native, Hayes Carll, is a singer-songwriter known for his poetic lyrics. His debut album, Flowers & Liquor, earned him the Best New Act title from the Houston Press while his second album, Little Rock, reached #1 on the Americana Chart. He was nominated for a Grammy in 2016 for Best Country Song for “Chances Are” (recorded by Lee Ann Womack). In 2017, cleaned up at the Austin Music Awards taking home Musician of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and more.

“We are looking forward to rocking Dallas with this very talented lyricist,” said Regional Director, Scott Langen. “His sound is deeply rooted in Texas Americana which makes him a perfect fit to perform for our runners and spectators.”

The musically themed Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. on March 24 and is expected to draw 13,000 runners. The 13.1-mile race will start on Young St. and Lamar St. (near the Omni Dallas Hotel) and will take runners on a tour of downtown and the Dallas skyline, including the spectacular sights of Deep Ellum, Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, The Bishop Arts District and Houston Street Bridge. While taking in the beautiful scenery, participants will experience enhanced support and community engagement as they move along to more music than ever with all new mile-markers that include speakers and race pacers who will be running with mobile speaker packs. Live bands will also be performing along the course, interspersed with cheerleaders and themed water stations all the way to the finish at The Lawn at Reunion where Hayes Carll will perform. The concert is free and open to the public.

Race weekend kicks off with the free Health & Fitness Expo located at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center where runners can pick up their race weekend packet. The Expo takes place on Friday, March 23 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
