The European half marathon record holder, Swiss long-distance runner Julien Wanders, is returning to the prestigious Napoli City Half Marathon, which will be held on Sunday, February 23.
Wanders’ European record is 59:13. He previously also held the European record for 10km, with a time of 27:13. In 2022, Wanders delivered an impressive performance in Naples, finishing in 1:00:28, but this time he returns with even higher ambitions.
The 29-year-old has been training intensely in Kenya. Regarding his participation at the Napoli City Half Marathon 2025, Julien Wanders said, “I have fond memories of Naples. This race holds a special place in my heart, and I see it as a crucial step in my journey back to the world’s top level. I am excited to return and will give my best performance.”
