Thirty-three-year-old Kenyan marathon runner Hosea Kimeli Kisorio has been suspended from competition for a period of three years for testing positive for EPO. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) issued the suspension and a press release regarding the ban.
Kisorio failed to reply to email messages from the AIU multiple times, so, therefore waved the right to a hearing on the matter.

“On January 9 2024, the AIU wrote to Kisorio confirming that, due to his failure to respond to the charge by Jan. 4 2024, he was deemed to have (i) waived his right to a hearing, (ii) admitted the Anti-Doping Rule Violations and (iii) accepted the consequences specified in the Charge,” read the release.
Kiorio was not an international-level athlete according to Kenyan standards with a marathon best of 2:17:01 from Nov. 2023 in Ravenna, Italy. His best performance may have come in the 3000 metre steeplechase with his 8:36.68 performance from Sept. 2015 in Jesolo, Italy.
