Kenyan racewalker Stephen Ndangiri has been suspended from competition for testing positive for the banned performance-enhancing substance Erythropoietin (EPO), the red blood cell booster.
The 20-year-old just won a silver medal at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games in the 10,000m event. He set a new personal best of 38:46.57 in the event, which is a national best time.
Last year, he set the 35km national record at 2:49:27. In May this year, in Ghana, he set a 20 km best of 1:20:01.
His suspension starts August 5, 2026.
