The Nike Oregon Project’s Cam Levins competed in the 2015 Portland Track Festival and won Section 1 – the fastest race of three for the distance. He won in the time of 13:20.68, almost five seconds off of his own personal best time of 13:15.19 – the second fastest time in Canadian history; however, more importantly, three seconds faster than the standard to qualify for the 2015 IAAF World Track and Field Championships. All that is left for the 2012 London Olympian from Black Creek, BC is to finish top-three at the Canadian Track and Field Championships in early July. They are taking place in Edmonton.

Levins cruised to the win by nearly 10 seconds ahead of Hoka One One-Sponsored athlete, American David Torrence. Levins ran through the 3-kilomtre split in the approximate time of 8:04 and had a final lap of roughly 59-seconds. He took over from the rabbit before the two-kilometre mark and held the lead for over eight laps of the 12.5-lap race.

Levins broke the Canadian record for the 10,000m distance by finishing in the time of 27:07.51 in Eugene, Oregon on May 29, 2015.

Tyler Penner finish third in the same race and third overall in the time of 13:32.06. Penner runs for Zap Fitness.
