Two-time Olympic heptathlete has disappeared in France. Her mysterious disappearance has prompted a search as well as growing concern from friends and family — it was out of character.
Odile Ahouanwanou of Benin did not return home or pick up her child from daycare on September 10, setting off concern from those who know her and her community in Benin and Northern France. She was last seen in Neufchâtel-en-Bray.

The 33-year-old represented Benin at both the London and Tokyo Olympic Games.
French police continue their search for clues that could lead to her whereabouts.
She is a two-time African champion and finished eighth in the 2019 Doha World Athletics Championships. Ahouanwanou’s personal best points tally in the heptathlon is a national record 6274. Her strongest events are in the 60m to 200m sprints.
