The 2020 Pan Am Cross Country Cup (Championships) will be taking place Saturday, February 29 at the Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Langford, BC (Victoria, BC).

The start is at the north end of the map where the large end of the triangle is located. Runners will head south towards the “Tiered Tees” but will curve left and turn north over a steep but short hill (mound).

Athletes will turn right and head to “Hole #1” and run north on the fringe of the fairway, turn right to the other side of the fairway (across the fairway) and head south to the end of the fairway – on the way, runners will run through a 30-metre sand trap.

Turning left (east) to “Hole #18” they will again travel north and then lap the entire fairway of Hole #18. At the southernmost point of the fairway, runners are at the lowest point on the course and will now travel west-northwest and climb a steep hill to the start/finish area. The final 200m of the 2K lap offers an elevation gain of approximately 30m.

While the course has long stretches of flat and rolling terrain with firm footing, the final piece has rougher footing and a steep pitch nearest to the plateau where the start-finish area is located at the driving range.

For subsequent laps, runners will run north-south-north within the driving range area (start/finish) to follow the rest of the route around Holes #1 and #18 again.

The finish chute is on the bottom of three-tiered levels at the south end of the course and requires a sharp left turn after the major climb.
