The Athletics Illustrated Person of the Week honours for the week of
October 5, 2020, goes to Canadian runner Tristane Woodfine.
Woodfine qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics during the Virgin London Marathon with a new personal best of 2:10:51.
Canada has a new 2020 Tokyo Olympic marathon runner. Already qualified is Calgary’s Trevor Hofbauer with his second-fastest Canadian time ever at 2:09:51. Tristan Woodfine of Cobden, Ontario finished in a new personal best of 2:10:51, 39 seconds under the Olympic qualifying time. He rolled in with a 17th place finish at the 2020 London Marathon.
The Athletics Illustrated Person of the Week recognition is an endeavor that aims to recognise noteworthy or newsworthy achievements, actions or events in the sport of athletics by individuals who are involved or have affected the sport in some way.
The weekly decision will be the discretion of Athletics Illustrated, however, input from readers is welcome.
