Press release — Canada Running Series

Spring is here at last and a sold-out crowd of 3,500 fitness enthusiasts are ready to head to beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau for the 21st edition of the 21K de Montréal this Saturday, April 22nd. The third race in the prestigious Canada Running Series 2023 season, this event attracts runners of all levels and abilities by offering a balance of sport and community. There will be a 5K and 10K as well as the signature 21K, all on Saturday morning.

As always, the 21K promises some great competition as one of Quebec’s best-quality races of the year. The men’s race will feature a particularly intriguing match-up between New Brunswick’s Mohamed Aagab and Montréal’s François Jarry; while the women’s race will highlight one of the province’s finest marathon stars, Elissa Legault, as she bids to recapture her Quebec Half Marathon record.

The biggest winner on the day, however, will be the community, as the participants are on track to raise more than $500,000 for 45 local charities, making 21K de Montréal Quebec’s largest fundraising run.

And all finishers will receive a unique medal featuring one of the city’s most -loved symbols, a Montréal bagel! St-Viateur will also be there to offer their world-famous, real bagels in the recovery area, together with 18 of the charities who will be on hand to say “thank you”. Online donations can still be made until May 31st, 2023.

While entries are now closed at capacity, everyone is invited to come out join the vibrant Montréal running community at the various cheer sites around the scenic loop courses on Ile Sainte-Helene and Ille Notre Dame. The Parc Jean-Drapeau metro station on the Yellow Line will take you to the center of the action.
