Raven Saunders, shot put silver medallist from the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games has been suspended for 18 months after missing three whereabouts failures in 12-month period. Missing three tests in 12 months is equal to a failed doping test.

Saunders accepted an 18-month suspension for not turning up to the doping tests.

She will be abel to return to competition in February 2024.

The 26-year-old American will be eligible for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Saunders has a personal best put of 19.96m, which she set at the 2021 USATF Championships. She is sixth on the US all-time shot put list.

Saunders is also known for her discus-throwing pursuit. The Southern Illinois University and University of Mississippi athlete had an Olympic put best of 19.79m.
