Talbot retires

Danny Talbot, who picked up a gold medal during the 2007 London World Athletics Championships in the 4 x 100m relay has decided to hang up the spikes.

The 30-year-old also competed in the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The British athlete has decided to retire on his own terms, however, was injured for the 2020 (2021) Tokyo Olympic Games.

His personal best in the 100m is 10.14 from 2014. He did run a wind-aided 10.13 in 2017. His 200m best is 20.16 and 19.86 wind-aided.

Jacobs returns for indoor season

Olympic 100m and 4x100m champion Marcell Jacobs will race for the first time since winning two gold medals in Tokyo at the ISTAF Indoor in Berlin on 4 February, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting. 

Jacobs is planning a full indoor season in the 60m which will culminate at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia on 18-20 March. 

His schedule is yet to be fully finalised but Jacobs will also race at the Italian Indoor Championships in Ancona on 25-27 February. This will be his first competitive appearance on domestic soil since springing to stardom at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
