Ethiopian, Kokebe Abeba Olekeba, has been provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU). The athlete tested positive for the presence of the synthetic anabolic steroid clostebol.

Olekeba finished second in the 2024 ChangZhou West Taihu Lake Half Marathon which takes place in ChangZou, China in February. She clocked a 1:13:38 result.
