Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is set to headline the newly added 400 metre race at the 50th Prefontaine Classic—marking her first-ever appearance at the meet.

The last time she raced a 400m flat at Hayward Field, she scorched the track with a personal best of 48.74 seconds.

All eyes will be on Hayward Field this July 5 as the world gets ready for a truly unforgettable day of world-class competition at this year’s special edition of the Pre Classic.

SML is the greatest 400m hurdler in history as she holds the current world record at 50.37 from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. She helped the American team clock a world record in the 4 x 400m at 3:15.27, also in Paris.

At the end of May, she competed in the Philadelphia edition of the Grand Slam Track running personal bests in both the 100mh and 100m flat, clocking 12.70 and 11.21, respectively.

She is a four-time Olympic gold medallist and a three-time World championship gold medallist, and won the silver a month after her 20th birthday in the 2019 Doha World Athletics Championships.
