The 2024 Harriers Pioneer 8K, the first race of the Vancouver Island Race Series went on Sunday, January 14 in North Saanich, BC.
Aaron Ahl, training in Victoria, but from Calgary, Alberta won the race in 23:44. Anja Krueger won the women’s in 27:55. She is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is in Victoria to get in some focussed triathlon training at the Olympic distance.
The second race of the series is the BC 10K Championships taking place in Cobble Hill BC 20 minutes northwest of Victoria. It is called the Cobble Hill 10K.
