Lauren Hagans, a Baylor University half-of-fame athlete decided to give the marathon a go at age 36 on Sunday. Surprisingly she won and recorded the fourth fastest Grandma’s performance all-time and the fastest debut.

Hagans (HOKA NAZ Elite) (nee Paquette) also defeated two-time defending champion Dakotah Lindwurm who took second place in the time of 2:26:56. Gabriella Rooker taking the third spot recorded a new personal best time of 2:27:38.

Elisha Barno claimed his fifth men’s title. Barno had some issues early on, however, seem to warm into the race nicely. His main challenger was training partner and defending champion Dominic Ondoro. Barno recorded a new personal best at 2:09:14. The Kenyan’s previous best was from the 2018 Houston Marathon where he clocked a 2:09:32 finish. Kenyan Panuel Mkungo, finished third in his debut with a time of 2:10:20.
