Hassan Mead, an American middle-distance athlete has been banned for three years by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for doping. He tested positive for ostarine and ligandrol in an out-of-competition test on October 17, 2022.

Ostarine and (Ligandrol) LGD-4033 are Non-Specified Substances in the class of Anabolic Agents and are prohibited at all times under the USADA Protocol for Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing, the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee National Anti-Doping Policy, and the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules.
Mead owns bests of 13:02.80 in the 5000 metre event as well as 7:38.51 in the 3000m and 27:32.49 over 10,000m.
Recently, he talked of retirement, after unsuccessfully toying with the half-marathon and 15K distances in 2021.
The Somali-born athlete raced for the University of Minnesota in the NCAA and was an eight-time All-American. Since 2012 he was with the Oregon Track Club and was coached by Mark Rowland and Steve Plasencia.
Lindsey Scherf
Lindsey Scherf, age 37 has accepted a four-year suspension after testing positive for an anabolic agent as the result of an out-of-competition urine sample collected on December 26, 2021.

Scherf’s four-year period of ineligibility took effect on February 7, 2022, the date her provisional suspension was imposed, but Scherf retired on March 14, 2022. Therefore, her period of ineligibility will continue until she returns from retirement and serves the remainder of her period of ineligibility. In addition, Scherf has been disqualified from all competitive results obtained on and subsequent to December 26, 2021, the date her positive sample was collected, including forfeiture of any medals, points and prizes.
Scherf a well-known road racer in the North American circuit owned bests of 32:27.01 in the 10,000m and 32:33 over 10K on the roads.
Her best performance may have come from a decade ago when she ran 1:25:12 over 25K. She dabbled in distance from 1500m to the marathon.
