As far as the athletics calendar goes, 2022 has been a very busy year. This is especially true during spring through summer with the usual one-off professional track meets, the 13-meet Diamond League series as well as the World Athletics Championships, Commonwealth Games, and European Championships. Cross country season is night upon us. The road circuits with the fall and spring marathon seasons keep the athletics community busy. Most recently the North American Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association Track and Field Championships (NACAC) saw Athletics Canada field a 40-person team that went on to win 14 medals.
The fourth edition of the NACAC Track and Field Championship came to a close on Sunday.

Led by Sarah Mitton and Django Lovett’s respective titles in the shot put and high jump, Canada came away from the weekend with two gold, three silver, and nine bronze medals.
The championship, taking place from August 19 to 21 in Freeport, Grand Bahamas, was the last of a series of international competitions taking place this summer, which included the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games. The 2022 edition of the NACAC championships was the first event of its kind since 2018, due to the pandemic.
