The Canadian Track and Field Championships began with Day 1 on Wednesday, July 30 in the naton’s capital, Ottawa, Ontario. The schedule is below, and the results are located here.
Most of the first day included preliminary and qualifying heats.

According to Athletics Canada, the meet got underway with a fast start.
“A fast start is crucial to getting a good result in track & field. If Day 1 is any indication, the 2025 Canadian Track & Field Championships presented by Bell are going to be outstanding.
“Three-time Paralympian Marissa Papaconstantinou was in fine form in the women’s 100 metres qualifying round. She shattered her own national mark in the women’s T64 100 metres, crossing the line in 12.84 seconds!
“She wasn’t the only para athlete challenging the national mark. George Quarcoo, guided by two-time Olympian Segun Makinde, just missed breaking his own T11 100 metre record. His time of 11.32 seconds was just a fraction of a second off the ratification-pending Canadian record time of 11.24 seconds he set just two weeks ago!”
“For Thursday, the athletes to watch are Olympic gold medallist Camryn Rogers and 5000m and 10,000m national record holder Moh Ahmed.
“Canada’s Olympic and World Champion Camryn Rogers will send hammers flying through the evening sky in the national capital.
“How fast can Moh go? Mohammed Ahmed brings his own Olympic medal and national championships resume to the Terry Fox Athletic Facility, ready to burn up the track over 5,000 metres on a hot night in Ottawa.”
