Twenty-nine-year-old Chinese distance runner Lya Guo has been banned by the Athletics Integrity Unit for an anti-doping rule violation.
The in-competition test sample was taken at the Wuxi Taihu Lake Queens Half Marathon, held in Wuxi, China on March 2, 2025. The World Anti-Doping accredited lab in Beijing, China, found Metandienone Metabolites.

She has been banned for four years. However, she was given a one-year reduction for early admission of fault. The ban started on March 24, 2025.
Guo holds personal bests of 2:43:41 in the marathon, 1:12:53 in the half-marathon and 37:23 in the 10km distance. Her 5000m best is 17:57.74. The two slower times over the shorter distances took place in 2023. The two faster times in the half-marathon and the marathon happened in 2024 and 2025 — red flag changes.
