The Wanda Diamond League has upped the ante by increasing the overall prize purse to its highest level ever.

The Diamond League press release states that $500,000 (€450,000) will be paid out at the 14 different events on the 2025 Wanda Diamond League series. Then a total of $2,240,000 (€2 million) will be awarded at the 2025 Wanda Diamond League Finale.

Prizes will range from $30,000 to $50,000 (€26,980 to €44,960) for the first 14 events. And from $60,000 to $100,000 (€53,960 to €89,950) in the championship final. Male and female athletes awarded equal sums across all 32 track and field disciplines.

The dollars represent an increase from the 2024 prizes where winners collected $10,000 (€8,990) and Diamond League championship winners receiving $30,000 (€26,980).

“The Wanda Diamond League remains committed to rewarding the athletes more. Whilst ensuring the long-term sustainability of the series,” said Diamond League CEO, Petr Stastny. “We provide the world’s best athletes the opportunity to compete at the highest possible level.”

“Having competitors from around 100 countries every year allows for TV audiences in 150 countries and territories, making our series a truly universal and global league,” he added.

The 2025 series will take place in 13 different countries starting in April and ends in September.
