The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced the provisional suspension of Abderrahim Ougra, a Moroccan athlete based in Girona (he competed with a license from the Spanish Federation), for evading an anti-doping control.

The 24-year-old is a specialist in the 3,000-metre steeplechase. Ougra disappeared after racing the Cáceres Cross Country Grand Prix in January. Doping control officers were waiting for him as he finished fourth. After the episode, the Catalan Federation stopped calling him to participate in the National cross-country competition.

His 3000msc best is 8:24.76.

Ougra was third in the national outdoor championships in 8:30 in 2023. As he is not a Spanish citizen, he did not earn a medal at the event.
