Zharnel Hughes, the fastest British man ever, is the latest name to be confirmed for the London Athletics Meet.

Fresh off the back of his record-breaking 100m performance in New York where he took Linford Christie’s near 30-year-old record with a stunning time of 9.83, Hughes now has his sights firmly set on London.

“I will be racing over the 200m in London, a distance I have enjoyed a lot of success in during my career. I know it will be a very fast and entertaining race, so I am excited to see what I am capable of producing on the day. I want to put on a show for the 45,000 plus people in the stadium next month.”

How fast can he run in London? Find out at the London Stadium on 23rd July. Adult tickets start from £23 and under 16’s from £5, but you’ll need to be faster than Zharnel as only a limited amount are still available.

The highly anticipated event timetable for the London Athletics Meet has been released, and it promises a jam-packed day of thrilling competition.

Highlights include Olympic, world and European medallist Dina Asher-Smith in the women’s 100m, reigning world champion Jake Wightman in the men’s 1500m, and Sifan Hassan & Eilish McColgan going head-to-head in the women’s 5000m.
