Nigerian long and triple jumper, Goodness Iredia, has received a provisional suspension by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU). He is suspended due to an Adverse Analytical Finding. Iredia tested positive for the presence of Metenolone. He also tested positive for its Metabolite 3a-Hydroxy-1-methylene-5a-androstan-17-one — an anabolic steroid — from a test taken in Louisville, Kentucky, in January.

Iredia is suspended for three years from February 26, 2025.

Iredia’s middle name is Osamudiamen, which means “God, stand by me.” That did not work out well for the University of Southern Florida Bulls junior.

His personal best in the long jump is 8.03 metres. His personal best in the triple jump is 16.55m.

Iredia’s best international performance may be his bronze medal from the African championships. The event took place in June last year at Stade Omnisport de Japoma, Douala, Cameroon.
