Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson won the 2026 USATF Outdoor Championships 100 metres in New York at Icahn Stadium in New York. Doing so, they set world-leading times for the year.

Richardson ran 10.77 (+0.9 m/s) to win her third national title. After crossing the finish line, she celebrated vociferously. Eight minutes later, Lyles did the same by winning a third 100m title of his own. He ran 9.79 (+0.8 m/s) to match his personal best.

There was no real threat from the fields for the two champions. Richardson went into her race as the clear favourite, with Melissa Jefferson-Wooden opting to race only the 200m event. Kayla White clocked a 10.90 for second. Tamara Davis finished third in 11.00.

Ronnie Baker surprisingly edged out defending champ Kenny Bednarek, who took third. Baker prevailed by five-thousandths of a second as both men were clocked at 9.88. Bednarek could be seen limping afterward.

Lyles opened with a controlled 9.97, followed that up with a wind-aided 9.76, before taking the final.
