The Shanghai Diamond League meet has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Chinese government has suspended all international sports events for 2020. The announcement was made on July 9.

”Following the decision taken by China’s National Administration of Sports to suspend all international sporting events until next year, we are sorry to announce that the 2020 Shanghai Diamond League will not go ahead as planned on September 19,” read a press statement from World Athletics.

”Due to the ongoing global health situation and ever-changing regulations, the 2020 Wanda Diamond League calendar remains provisional and subject to further changes.”

    CBC and the Olympic Channel

CBC Gem streaming has launched Olympic Channel TV, a free 24-hour service.

Original programming, documentaries, gold-medal performances, and memorable moments from past Olympic Games will be streamed.

“We are thrilled to bring an Olympic Channel digital experience to CBC Gem users in Canada as we continue to grow and evolve our global product,” said Olympic Channel general manager Mark Parkman.
