Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, known as the “Poacket Rocket” has allegedly moved on from her coach Reynaldo Walcott and Elite Performance Track Club according to the publication Sportsmax.

The eight-time Olympic medallist (three gold), Fraser-Pryce, has been dealing with a knee injury for a lengthy period.

She reportedly has not officially named a new coach.

Fraser-Pryce was apparently looking to retire after the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, however, her performances were not at the level she was aiming for. The coaching change suggests she will continue to race and perhaps finish her career on a high note.

However, there is speculation that Andre Wellington has been shortlisted. Wellington has coached World U20 100m silver medallist Bouwahghie Nkrumie at Kingston College.

Fraser-Pryce at age 37 set all of her personal bests during the year 2021 or before. She joined Elite Performance Track Club in 2022, during the Covid pandemic.

She owns a 100-metre personal best time of 10.60 seconds, which she set during the Swiss Diamond League meet in 2021. Two months prior, in Kingston’s National Stadium she ran the 200m in the time of 21.79. During the Tokyo Olympic Games that summer, Fraser-Pryce helped the Jamaican 4 x 100m relay team set a new national record of 41.02. She has earned 10 World Athletics Championships gold medals as well as two silver. She has at least 31 Diamond League wins including five championships.
