The Royal Victoria Marathon may sell out by the end of the day on Tuesday, July 8. Its half-marathon has already reached its capacity. Next up are the 8K and 5K races.
As of Monday, 52 marathon spots were remaining for the 45th annual event.

A total of 15,000 registrations are expected for the 2025 running of weekend events, the largest ever. Race weekend happens on Canadian Thanksgiving, October 12 – 15.
In 2024, there were just over 12,000 in total.
“The growth is incredible,” said Cathy Noel, race manager. “We sold out in 2023, so we increased our capacity numbers for 2024. We then sold out again, so we increased it again for this year, never thinking we would hit the numbers we are seeing.”
The flagship 42.195 kilometre marathon started in 1980 with 700 runners.
Course records are Men’s: 2:13:42 from the 2013 running by Kenyan Lamech Mokono, while Lucy Njeri, also from Kenya, clocked 2:37:56 in 2011.
The half marathon was added in 2001.
