The Brasov Running Festival 2024’s European Road Mile races and tRUNsylvania 10K will be streamed live this weekend via the Brasov Running Festival’s website and YouTube channel.

Saturday, September 21:
18:30 local time (15:30 GMT) – European Road Mile races

Sunday, September 22:
09:30 local time (06:30 GMT) – tRUNsylvania 10K women’s race
10:15 local time (07:15 GMT) – tRUNsylvania 10K men’s race

Both events have star-studded international fields which will ensure thrilling high-quality races.

The tRUNsylvania 10K is a World Athletics Elite Label Race, the only one of its kind in Romania, and the country’s premier road race.

The leading runners in this year’s tRUNsylvania 10K women’s race are available here while the big names in the men’s race are available here.

Both races – held over a very fast and flat three-lap course and with first prizes of US $5000 – will also be streamed live via the World Athletics Inside Track channel.

Kenya’s Ronald Kwemoi and Ethiopia’s Lemlem Hailu have withdrawn from the tRUNsylvania 10K but there have been some notable additions to the women’s field.

Getachew, still only 18, won the 2023 World Cross Country Championships U20 title.

She is also the fastest U20 athlete in the world over 5000m indoors and holds the world U20 best for 10km on the roads (note: there are no official world U20 records for road trunning) and is coming to Brasov with her eyes on improving the latter mark.

However, she could possibly be challenged by her compatriot and fellow teenager Nbret, who is even younger at 17, who is making her debut at the distance.

The Festival takes place against the spectacular backdrop of the Carpathian Mountains and is held close to the centre of the historic and picturesque Transylvanian city which can date its origins back to the 13th century.
