Wesam Nasser A Alfarsi
Saudi Arabian middle and long-distance runner Wesam Nasser A Alfarsi has been banned for five years for doping.
In September 2024, he was tested using urine and blood samples in Hangzhou, China, in accordance with the 2022 Asian Games.

The results showed a presence of darbepoetin (“dEPO”) methoxy polyethylene glycol-epoetin beta (“CERA”). Testing was conducted in the World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory in Beijing, China.
Alfarsi was originally provisionally suspended with immediate effect. The case was brought to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after he requested his B sample to be tested.
Alfarsi accepted the consequences and had the term of ban shortened by one year. The standard is four years for one substance; however, doping with two substances leads to longer suspensions.
His best performance of his career came when he was allegedly doping. In the 3000m event, he clocked 8:37.31 in Belgium in 2023.
Wilfried Happio
Twenty-six-year-old Wilfried Happio of France was suspended by the AIU for missing three tests in 12 months. The three missed tests during a 12-month period are equal to a standard doping suspension. He received a sentence of 18 months that started (backdated) on Jan. 30, 2025 and his results from Oct. 2024 have been annulled.

“We will take time to analyze and we will present our arguments to the AIU,” Happio’s lawyer, Anthony Mottais, shared with Reuters at the time.
The 400m sprinter and hurdler has raced competitively from 60m to the 4 x 400m relay. His best is over the 400mh with a personal best of 47.41.
Happio has been accused of various forms of abuse; it seems his life may be chaotic.
Abuse claims
In 2020, Happio was accused of assaulting triple jump athlete Janet Scott. It is alleged that they were in a relationship. Apparently, there was not enough evidence provided to convict. He claimed self-defence.
In 2022, he was the subject of a complaint for sexual assault dating back to 2021. It was alleged that he committed against another athlete in the triple jump. He was eventually taken into custody on December 20 as part of the investigation for “sexual assault.”
It is alleged that there are at least three women who have complaints against Happio.
Le Monde published a story about a woman who shared her story of years of abuse by Happio. As it turns out, Happio allegedly abused the female athletes while under an endorsement contract with Adidas.
In the summer of 2022, he was accused of sexual assault by a fellow athlete who accused Happio of inappropriate touching.
The case was dismissed in June 2023.
